Our article was For the censorship of the 'n' word in the story of Huck Finn. Their main point for doing this was to teach kids about the story without them being offended. As a group, Pizzaz thinks that blacking out parts of history is senseless and the people who are offended should understand that the bad will not go away with this 'censorship'.

In this article they felt that it was a freedom of speech and if they censored it they would kind of be taking away our rights.
We think that people shouldn't be sheilded from what we used to be and still are.

we are against it because it is just a word. People can say it and mean bad things, but people have to look at it as just a word, nothing else.

The "n" word is used 219 times & is very offensive to people who read, or teach it as Alan Gribben says. He also said he would always hesitate when he teaches it in front of the class. He believes that it would be easier to teach it with the word slave instead.

Bosman believes that Huck Finn should be edited to remove the "n" word because it's insulting to some others.
They should have a edited versions, but shouldn't ban the original.

The Article by Bosman is for changing Huckfinn because they want it to be about the story and not directly about the word "Nigger."
The neons are against it because we feel that people need to no the whole truth of our history. The people need to know the importance of what had happened.

Our article was for changing the "n" word to slave, and taking away the word "injun". They want this change because they felt it was offensive. Purpinkorblu is against changing it, because we feel that an authors writing should be left alone.

Censoring Huckleberry Finn would be a very bad idea, as it would be like defacing it. How will we ever learn to think critically or deal with a problem if we are never faced with one.

Our article was "anti-censorship", I think they should leave it as the author intended.
The article about leaving the words in Huck Finn.

We disagree because taking out the "N" word would cut out half of the dialogue and it would change the moral of the story.

-Brooke McCaslin and Hope Stephens

Our article was about not changing it because it expresses the way people feel. We agree with this because changing it could change the whole over look of the book and because its a classic.

Using this word really shows how corrupted the times back then were with racial profiling. And shows how amazing this friend ship was. Taking away the word would decrease the intensity of the story.
