Check What the Lincoln Sophomores are Reading!!

I want to see what kind of book reviews we can get from the Sophomore's independent reading. My regular English is in charge of reading 1 play and 1 fun book, my Pre A. P. are reading 2 plays and 1 fun book. I would like regular English to post a review about their fun book, and Pre A. P. to review a fun book and a play. The following is a list of what I need in order for credit:

1. Why would someone like your book/play?
2. Include at least 2 quotes from different sections of your book adequately integrated into your paragraph proving you have actually read the book.
3. Make sure your title of the post includes book/play title, author, your first name only:
ex. Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman - Heather
This should be done by March 5, 2010 and is worth 20 points.

Peeps by Scott Westerfeld - Ashley
(Fun read)

"The main thing to remember is that there's no magic involved. No flying. No transforming into bats or rats either. We're talking about a disease." --Back cover

Peeps isn't like other vampire-based books. It's pretty straight forward, clearing up any "myths" about the fantasies often given to what they (in the book) call PARASITE POSITIVES, or PEEPS for short. People who want something more realistic, not some Twilight or old fashion type with garlic and a crucifix would come to find that they are really interested in the actual parasite that infects humans and how the Night Watch tries to prevent the spread with one guy set out to finish what he started. It was a good 'refresh' I guess you could say, from all the vampire books/movies I've seen, which I believe others would enjoy.

It begins with a guy fresh into New York for college, by the name of Cal Thompson. He slept with a girl by the name of Morgan, who he had just met at a local bar one night. After that he then realized he had become an acual carrier for those that they call Peeps. Unlike peeps, carriers have all the symptoms: such as good hearing, eyesight, and speed, but none of the go-crazy-and-turn-into-a-freak type thing. ortunately, he had fooled around I guess you could say with a few other girls, and they now have turned into peeps. It's his job to hunt them down and bring them in so they can sort of give them an antedote that makes them sane at least. "These days, we hunters have to do our homework before we go after a peep. What were there favorite foods? Music? Movies? That's why new peep hunters like me start with people they used to know; like ex-girlfriends." p22
The story begins to unravel as he finds theres more to this disease than he thought, and that the Night Watch is hiding something from him. Something that could change the world as we humans know it. Theres something bigger than peeps it turns out, something they have to spread the disease to be able to fight, and win the battle for mankind. "This was always the plan, huge resorvoirs of humans, a potential army of carriers to take on the ancient enemy. We're just the beginning." p294

*Fun Fact: In between every chapter is a little mini story about different disgusting parasites that are in our daily lives.

In this book a girl named Suzie Samon is murdered."My name is Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973." While her family is morning her loss (not knowing who murdered her) "I had rescued the moment by using my camera and in that way had found how to stop time and hold it. No one could take that image away from me because I owned it.” (Page 213), her father (Jack Salmon) is trying to put the pieces of her murder together. He suspects Mr. George Harvey (neighbor to the Salmon family), he tries telling the police what he thought about him, but they didnt arrest him because they didnt have any evidence towards him. In the mean time Abigail Salmon (mother)is having an affair with the chief of police, Suzie's sister (Lindsey) finds out. Lindsey later on finds out who her father has suspected as Suzie's murderer. Without Jack knowing she also tries to prove Harvey guilty. Meanwhile Suzie is looking down from heaven on her family and watching her parents drift apart. She also watches the day she was murdered. She keeps track of her family for all there life.“Stones and bones; snow and frost; seeds and beans and polliwogs. Paths and twigs, assorted kisses, We all know who Susie misses” (Page 278) In the end Suzie's family realizes that Suzie is gone and wont ever be back, so they have to move on.

Interestering/Unigue thing about the book.
-- The narrorator is actually Suzie, she is telling the story from beyond the grave.
-- At the end of the book there is a chapter called "Bones", it tells what became of all the people in Suzie's life.

All My Sons by Arthur Miller-Cassy

All My Sons is a good, mysterious read. The plot is based around a family, the Kellers, who lost a son, Larry.

"Well, a favorable day for a person is a fortunate day, according to his stars. In other words it would be practically impossible for him to have died on his favorable day."-Page 61
Kate, Larry's mother, is sure that Larry did not die. She asks Frank, their neighbor, to find out if November twenty-fifth, the day that Larry went missing, was his favorable day.

"God, I kissed you, Annie, I kissed Annie. How long, how long I've been waiting to kiss you!"-Page 84
Meanwhile, Chris, the other son, is certain that his brother must have died. He has been writing to Larry's old girlfriend, Ann, and asks her to visit. Chris plans on asking Ann to marry him.

"I always had the feeling that in the back of his head, Chris...almost knew."-Page 118
Joe, the father, is not sure which side to believe, but he is more worried about the dark secret that he is holding. Joe worked in a business with Ann's father during the war. One day a shipment of airplane parts that had a crack in them was sent out. Ann's father was thrown in jail because of the inccident, but some people believe that Joe was at fault.

All My Sons is a great read that keeps you interested from the beginning through the end. The mystery of what really happened on the day that the airplane parts were shipped holds your attention as you try to figure out if Larry's favorable day was November twenty-fifth.

Between Sundays by Karen Kingsbury-Cassy

Between Sundays is a story of life, and how it is lived during the week, and not just on Sunday.

There was something else Amy was sure about, more sure than ever before. Almost as if God Himself were making the future suddenly clear. her son would always have Megan, but very soon he would have someone else too."-Page 23
Cory is a young boy whose mother died.

"When he'd first come to live with Megan, he didn't like to hug her becuase she wasn't his mom."-Page 27
Amy, Cory's mom, left him with Megan, her friend and co-worker. After two years, Megan wants to adopt the eight-year-old boy, but Cory is sure that his father is in the picture.

"The man was quarterback Aaron Hill, but Cory didn't want to meet him because he was the city's favorite football player. He wanted to meet him for a different reason."-Page 31
Cory is convinced that Aaron Hill is his father. Amy had went to school with him, and she always told him that the famous quarterback was his dad. The piece of hope that Cory holds on to is standing between him and adoption.

The story of hope, heartbreak, love, and family is wonderful for anyone. Between Sundays is an uplifter, showing what can happen through a trust in Jesus Christ.

The Tempest by William Shakespeare
-Ashley

(Play #1)

Someone has to, in my opinion, be really good at reading Shakespeare and into plays to actually want to take the time to read this. It really helps to understand the content, and if you can accomplish that then I'm sure the story line itself is decent enough. This book is full of adventure and mystery, and a fantasy-type story line that keeps an interest to most.

The Tempest is a book filled with a rather colorful group of characters. It begins with a ship full of men, including Alonso, Sebastian, Ferdinand, Antonio, Gonzalo, and some others. They are in the middle of a huge storm, fearing that there fate has already been decided. The storm itself is being cast by a man on an island not far from them, by the name of Prospero. He decides to spare the men on the ship, and leaves them on the island fast asleep. Miranda, Prosperos daughter, quickly falls in love with Alonso's son Fernando. A group of people had a party on the island, happy to be alive.
GONZALO (to ALONSO)
"Beseech you, sir, be merry. You have cause,
So have we all, of joy, for our escape
Is much beyond our loss. Our hint of woe
Is common. But for the miracle—
I mean our preservation—few in millions
Can speak like us. Then wisely, good sir, weigh
Our sorrow with our comfort."
Antonio convinces Sebastian to kill Alonso, but they never really get the chance. A few group of men then decide to kill Prospero, and even begin plotting it. Prospero reveals himself to all, and makes the following statements to the whole group.
"A solemn air and the best comforter
To an unsettled fancy cure thy brains,
Now useless, boiled within thy skull.—There stand,
For you are spell-stopped.—
(to GONZALO) Holy Gonzalo, honorable man,
Mine eyes, ev'n sociable to the show of thine,
Fall fellowly drops.
(aside)    The charm dissolves apace,
And as the morning steals upon the night,
Melting the darkness, so their rising senses
Begin to chase the ignorant fumes that mantle
Their clearer reason.—
(to GONZALO)     O good Gonzalo,
My true preserver and a loyal sir
To him you follow’st, I will pay thy graces
Home both in word and deed.—
(to ALONSO)     Most cruelly
Didst thou, Alonso, use me and my daughter.
Thy brother was a furtherer in the act.—
(to SEBASTIAN) Thou art pinched for ’t now, Sebastian.—
(to ANTONIO)Flesh and blood,
You brother mine, that entertained ambition,
Expelled remorse and nature, whom, with Sebastian,
Whose inward pinches therefore are most strong,
Would here have killed your king—I do forgive thee,
Unnatural though thou art.
(aside)     Their understanding
Begins to swell, and the approaching tide
Will shortly fill the reasonable shore
That now lies foul and muddy. Not one of them
That yet looks on me, or would know me.—
(to ARIEL)      Ariel,
Fetch me the hat and rapier in my cell.
I will discase me, and myself present
As I was sometime Milan. Quickly, spirit.
Thou shalt ere long be free.

Shakespeare has a very dizziling intelect, and it's extremely hard to comprehend. But once you understand the basic background of the plot itself, everything else sort of falls into place.

No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre - Connor
(play)
This book is not like any other book, it is a fantacy play. It puts a twist on what we expect things to be.

Three damned souls, Garcin, Inez, and Estelle are brought to the same room in hell by a mysterious Valet. They had all expected to be tortured and be miserable for eternity, but instead find a plain room modled like a nice hotel room. None of them will admit the reason why they are in hell. Garcin says that he was executed for being a pacifist (refusing to go to war), while Estelle thanks he isnt telling the truth. Inez however, demands that they all stop lying to themselves and confess to their crimes. She refuses to believe that they all ended up in the room by accident and soon realizes that they have been placed together to make each other miserable.

Garcin: "You're crazy, both of you. Don't you see where this is leading us? For pity's sake, keep your mouths shut. Now let's all sit down again quite quietly; we'll look at the floor and each must try to forget the others are there."

Garcin suggests that they try to leave each other alone, but Inez starts to sing about an execution and Estelle wants to find a mirror. Inez tries to seduce Estelle by offering to be her "mirror" and tell her everything she sees, but ends up frightening her instead. After arguing they decide to confess to their crimes so they know what to expect from each other. Garcin cheated and mistreated his wife, Inez seduced her cousin's wife while living with them; and Estelle cheated on her husband and drowned her baby. Even though they told each other thier they continue to get on each others nerves. Garcin finally gives in to Estelle's attempts to seduce him, driving Inez crazy. He begs Estelle to tell him he is not a coward for attempting to leave his country during wartime.
"Oh, how mean you are! Yes, it's quite true you're a coward."

When Inez tells him that Estelle is just agreeing with him so she can be with a man.

Inez: "Nothing, whatever. Nothing of you's left on earth-not even a shadow. All you own is here. Would you like that paper-knife? Or that ornament on the mantelpiece? That blue sofa's yours. And I, my dear, am yours forever.

Garcin tries to escape. The door suddenly opens, but he cant leave. He says that he will not be saved until Inez has faith in him. She refuses, promising to make him miserable forever. Forgetting that they are all dead, Estelle unsuccessfully tries to kill Inez, stabbing her repeatedly. Shocked at the absurdity of his fate, Garcin concludes, "hell is other people."

The Bridge to Terabithia by Kathrine Paterson - PaFoua Yang

(Fun Book)

If you enjoyed reading any of the Narnia books, you would love this book because it tells about two friends who are going to create a magical land full of magical creatures in the wood. I enoyed this book a lot. It has a sad ending, but overall, I think many readers will enjoy this book.

"Do you know what we need?" Leslie called to him. Intoxicated as he was with the heavens, he couldn't imagine needing anything on earth.
"We need a place," she said, "just for us. It would be so secret that we would never tell anyone in the whole world about it." Jess came swinging back and dragged his feet to stop. She lowered her voice almost to a whisper. "It might be a whole secret country," she continued, "and you and I would be the rulers of it."
pg. 49 and 50
Leslie wants to have a secret place in the wood where no one knows about it but Leslie and Jess. A kingdom where Leslie and Jess can be the rulers. A kingdom called Terabithia.

"I know"--she was getting excited--"it could be a magic country like Narnia, and the only way you can get in is by swinging across this enchanted rope." pg. 50
Leslie had pictured the kingdom to look like how it does with magical creatures in Narnia. Leslie lended Jess the books about Narnia so he can have a great picture of what Narnia is like.

Leslie--dead--girl friend--rope--broke--fell--you--you--you. The words exploded in his head like corn against the sides of the popper. God--dead--you--Leslie--dead--you. pg. 132
After coming back from seeing the National Gallery in Washington with Miss Edmund, his teacher, he found out that Leslie died. The rain has been falling non-stop for weeks, so the creek that the rope was used to cross was getting higher. Leslie used the rope to get across and the rope accidently broke. She feel into the creek, hit her head, and died. Jess thinks it is his fault and blames himself for Leslie's death.

The Bridge to Terabithia inspired me to read the whole book and imagine greater after I got done reading it. This book brings friendship closer together! I did not regret spending my time reading this book and neither will you. You will enjoy every second of reading this book from beginning to end.

Death of a Salesman by

Death of a Salesman is a sad story of the hopeful dream of one salesman that led to the damnation of an entire family. Willy is a man who is lost in the past and his mind is constantly tormented with the hopes and dreams he had years ago that have since fallen through. He wants Biff, his son, to be successful, and yet he himself is lost. Willy believes that all it takes to become successful is to be well liked.
The Loman family is crazy, from these false dreams and hopes Willy has confided in his sons to do something better than him. Biff and Hap have always been shown that a business career is the only way to achieve success.Even though, Hap has taken the road his father wants he's not happy nor is he succesful. Biff asks Hap if he's successful but, he has to say no because, he's not but, he said it's what he's always wanted. His own apartment, a car, plenty of women. And still he's lonely. Willy's(father)idead of success, similar to the life Hap lives, is not really the same. Hap doesn''t understand or realize this, though.
In reality, Willy is not well liked, and he has a very hard time selling. But,Willy still inflates his image for his sons and himself. Appearance is so important to Willy he tells his sons.In the Loman household, that is the key to the high country: be well liked, look good. Biff sees that. Willy tells his son Biff, Don''t be so modest. You always star too low. It's not what you say, it's how you say it, because personality wins the day.
Everyone can see that Happy has a desire to get his fathers attention, and please him. Happy tells his parents, "I''m gonna get married, Mom. I wanted to tell you." Also, Hap's sporting goods business idea does not seem sound. He simply made it up knowing that it would please his father(Willy). Such lies are a vicious cycle in the Loman household.Hap and Biff soon start making up stories to cover for their last one, leading the family lower and lower. As, if their father hasn't already with his mistake.Biff placed his father on a pedestal and had worshiped him. The knowledge of his father's unfaithfulness shatters this ideal that Biff has held for so long. It's this event that causing the hurt Biff suffers for the next fifteen years.A lot of the story is full of lies that cover up the reality that lingers at the feet of this poor family. Willy Loman had a dream that was not realistic. His pursuit of this dream led his entire family to suffer. In the end, he thought he had no choice but to kill himself and try to make things better.

All's Well That Ends Well by William Shakespeare

the Countess of Rousillon was unhappy in her palace near the Pyrenees. A child is a child but,Helena was in love with him.Helena was the daughter of a great doctor who had died in the service of the Count of Rousillon. Her fortune consisted of a few of her father's belongings. When Bertram had gone, Helena's look was noticed by the Countess, who told her that she was exactly the same to her as her own child. Tears then gathered in Helena's eyes, for she felt that the Countess made Bertram seem like a brother who she could never marry. The Countess guessed her secret, and Helena confessed that Bertram was to her as the sun is to the day. She hoped, however, to win this sun by earning the respect of the King of France, who suffered from a lingering illness, which made him sick. So, Helena was going to try to cure the king.
He was very polite, but it was clear he thought she was crazy. Helena declared she would forfit her life if she failed to make him well.If Helena succeded she could chose her husband. Helena, therefore, became the King's doctor, and in two days the king could skip.He called his servants, and they made a spot for a man to take his place.Helena eyes till they found Bertram. Then she went up to him, she said, "This is the Man!"He didn't want her.The king reminded his son what Helena had did for him.So, the king asked his son again if he would marry Helena. If not he would banish him. Bertram was mad now knowing he could not return to the army married. He left her with a letter that said"When you can get the ring from my finger you can call me husband, but against that i will say NEVER". Helena went to the king she was uneasy so, he gave her the ring from his finger. He told her "if you send this to me I shall know you are in trouble."So Helena went back to Rousillon but,she did not stay long. Helena found her hostess was a widow, who had a daughter named Diana.Bertram was making love to Diana. He did not hide that he was married.Helena decided to inform her that she was the Countess Rousillon. So, they came up with a plan to make Bertram officially hers.Bertram wanted a lock of Diana's hair so, they could be officially married. But it was Helena's hair instead. The war was nearly over, but it taught Bertram that the soldier who had called Helena his "kicky-wicky" was far less braver than a wife. But there were bigger problems in France like Helena, who had spread a report of her death. The King mourned for Helena. But, the king was not the only one who mourned for Helena so did Bertram but, he knew it was too late.Bertram found himself confronted by Diana and her mother. He denied that he knew Diana. Bertram was ready to die. Helena entered. "Do I see reality?" asked the King. "O pardon! pardon!" cried Bertram. She held up the ring. "Now that I have this," said she, "will you love me, Bertram?" Forever," cried he. The King praised Diana when he knew the plan.Helena was happy she exposed how mean Bertram was, not only to the King, but to himself. His pride was gon, and it is he made a great husband.

Thirst NO.1 By Christopher Pike ~Kelsey.

The only way you could successfully read this book, is if you can handle enormous amounts of gore and graphic material. It is not for those of you with weak stomachs, Megan tried and failed and then told me to read it. So I did.

I know what I thought when I heard this book was too gory to read, "There is no way it could be that bad!". Then I read it and only a couple chapters in someone was killed by their chest bones being collapsed by the hand of a young woman. Now you think I'm kidding? NO! It only gets progressivly worse from there, but the thing that kept me reading was that inside the moster. Inside this woman who has killed thousands and thousands of people throughout her years, there is still humanity. There is still something inside of her that lets her love, care, and have emotions.
In the beggining you learn of how Sita became what she is today, then the story goes back and forth from now to then, in one part it tells the story of the first vampire, and how it was born. She speaks of how her friends was to have a child born but died before it was born, they let her body go to a priest who tried to call a spirit with her body. When this was done it is said that the monster entered the body of the girl and ate the priest. A quote of right after this happens is, "Then finall, thankfully, the monster closed it's eyes and Amba's body lay back down."
After this happens a live child comes from then woman and grows into a man. A vampire. After he changes Sita though many different things begin to change. Its like a book with religion, violence, love, and history all in one, or three becuase its actually a three in one book.

This next part is from a part in the book when the Yaksha is trying to seal his deal with God and get rid of all the vampires. He is trying to capture Sita and has sent out some people to catch her and take her to him. She has now convinced the captors to let her stop in the bathroom. She goes in with the girl, and kills her without regret, and this is how, "My grip is ferocious; there is blood even before I kill her, around her eyes. My nails destroy her vision permenantly"
"He's scared. He can hardly talk. He accidently steps in the mess dripping out of the woman's head."

So thats just a little preview of the book there is alot more that happens but as you know I enjoy reading large and very detailed books so it would take days to tell you everything. I made both the quotes rather gory to make sure you fully understand what your getting into if you decide to read this book. Those are only mild. All in all this is a good book, thanks!

Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls-Luke Coursey(fun book)

Billy (main character) wants more than anything to have some hunting dogs of his own. Billy's parents offer to buy him some collie dogs, but he insists on hunting dogs, and they say they can't afford it.
One day, he finds an ad in the paper for just that, two hunting dogs. Billy begins to have strange spells of ensamnia (I inferred). One day Billy finds an ad in the paper, and starts saving up. Months pass, and when Billy finally has enough money he takes it to his grandpa. Billy's grandpa buys him the dogs and every time he can go hunting, he does. Billy's grandpa brags on his dogs, and soon he is known around the shop.

Soon the Pritchard kids learn of Billy's dogs, and challenge him to catch what they call the ghost coon. They make a bet, billy wins.
Soon Billy goes and competes in a coon hunting competition, his grandpa hurts his leg, but ultimately they win first prize in two parts of the competition. Little Anne wins what I would call best in show. Old Dan wins the coon hunting competition. Billy, his dad, and his grandpaw go home. Little Anne and Old Dan die, and Billy and his family move to the city, billy stays with his grandpa for a little longer.

quotes from Where the Red Fern Grows
Luke Coursey

"I wanted so much to step over and pick them up. Several times I tried to move my feet, but they seemed to be nailed to the floor. I knew the pups were mine, all mine, yet I couldn't move. My heart started aching like a drunk grasshopper. I tried to swallow and couldn't. My Adam's apple wouldn't work. One pup started my way. I held my breath. On he came until I felt a scratchy little foot on mine. The other pup followed. A warm puppy tongue caressed my sore foot. I heard the stationmaster say, 'They already know you.' I knelt down and gathered them in my arms. I buried my face between their wiggling bodies and cried." Chapter 5, page 37

"I'm sure the red fern has grown and has completely covered the two little mounds. I know it is still there, hiding its secret beneath those long, red leaves, but it wouldn't be hidden from me for part of my life is buried there too. Yes, I know it is still there, for in my heart I believe the legend of the sacred red fern." Chapter 20, page 249

Chosen by Ted Dekker- Brandon
(fun read)

I think someone should read my book because it is adventurous and has suspense at every turn. My story envolves four young warriors of the Forest Gaurd chosen to find 7 lost books of history. In this story, three of the four warriors are heavily trained in combat. The one who isn't is named Johnis, who is really revealed later in the book as the hero who saved all the Forests. In the book, on character quotes,"Shut your flap scrapper," which indicates that the characters are not fond of the smaller Johnis. Johnis knows that they don't really trust him but in the story he saves them more than once, gaining some respect. I think this part shows that people may not like you but it doesn't mean you quit trying to win them over. Another quote is when they come to a forest that is black and full of darkness. Johnis is speaking to the lord of darkness who wants the books of history to destroy the world," Forgive me! I'm so sorry! Please, please don't hurt her!" In this book love also springs about and influences things along in the book. In the end, someone should read this because it not only shows how thinking with your heart helps, but how courage and free will play a big part in life's role.

(play#1)

If you like the books where tricks are made on eachother then Entrapment is the book for you....

Annie wants to play a trick on Mitch and Beau, Bliss and Tamara's boyfriends, so that she can prove that guys are always the bad guys. She thinks of this idea to say that Bliss and Tamara go away to make the boys sad. Then, Annie's friend Johnson would make up this online chat group and Mitch and Beau would think it was two four-and-exchange students, while actually it was Bliss and Tamara. The catch is that Bliss leads on Tamara's boyfriend Beau, and Tamara leads on Bliss's boyfriend Mitch to see if the boys would flirt with these "exchange students."
--pg 10 "gothling: oh, ahem. not so fast, sweetie bliss4u: now what? gothling: er, well, just that it won't be ms. tamra gray and beau baby. it will be... BLISS and beau baby!"

Annie gives Tamara the name Tatiana, and Bliss the name Bridget. Tatiana is from the country Albany and Bliss is from London, but not really this is what they tell the guys in the chat room. After awhile, the boys start to flirt with the girls, even though they have girlfriends. Since, the girls in the chatroom are their girlfriends, the girls know every little move the guys make on the exchange students. Beau starts to constantly flirt alot with "Bridget" who is actually Mitch's girlfriend. Tamara gets mad and wants to end the whole thing because she doesn't want to lose her boyfriend. Tatiana could never get to Mitch, so Annie said she wouldn't end the whole scam until he falls for it too. Both girls know that Mitch would never fall for it and try to tell Annie, but she just wont listen.
--pg 213 "bliss4u: why doesn't annie just admit that mitch is not gettable, and we call it a day? gothling: look, prissy, u agreed to the terms. u put yrself in my hands 2c if u can trust him. u can't just rule out anything that makes u feel threatened blissu:but this is an unfair trick gothling: so u don't trust him after all? Ms.T: ok, whatever. how about this... bliss doesn't get to rule out anything, buy i'm not saying i'll do it either gothling: oh, guy, u don't have a chance without it Ms.T: there's lots we haven't tried. i'll work on it"
At the end of the book the girls tell the guys about the trick and ask them why they were flirting with the fake exchange students. The guys beg for forgiveness, and tell the girls that they are sorry. Also, Anni realizes that guys aren't so bad and becomes Johnson's girlfriend.
--pg 299 "chessman: well, i feel like i just flunked all my classes. you guys played a great scam on us bliss4u: funny. i was sure there'd be an apology somewhere chessman: there is, there is... ok, bliss, i began to lose hope. i thought you had another guy, and then i let down my guard, i doubted you, and i'm sorry bliss4u: hmmmph. i don't know... gothling: not that i really care, but i should remind certain people of the terms of their bet bliss4u: get out. i will NOT take him back. not until he's been punished chessman: say what? gothling: lol. no, bliss. i don't think that's an option. u lost... bliss4u: i put this 2 my gurls. should i take him back does he deserve it? Ms.T: well...he just now groveled. and actually, he resisted a loooong time... chessman: i souldn't have doubted. won't happen again, bliss Ms.T: ...a MUCH longer time than SOME people BoBoy: yeah. me too, T. i know i'm a bonehead. lesson learned Ms.T:boy, i am goin 2 pound on you so bad BoBoy: yess!"

An awesome thing about this book is that it is written in chat. It is a High School comedy in chat format.

Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller – Kory

If you enjoy books about the search for “The American Dream” then you would like this play, about an ordinary man’s struggle to leave his mark on the world.

Willy is a 63 year old man working as a salesman, but searching for something more in life. He isn’t getting along with his sons, he isn’t as good a salesman as he once hoped he would be, and he doesn’t seem to have anyone to turn to at times. He is often depressed when bills keep coming in and he doesn’t have any money to pay them. Willy: A hundred and twenty dollars! My God if business don’t pick up I don’t know what I’m going to do! - Page 23 His high expectations and desire for his sons (Biff and Happy) to be successful keeps the family in turmoil throughout the book. Growing up Biff was a football start at his high school and Willy always believed Biff would be successful because he was “well liked.” To Willy being well liked was the guarantee to a rich life.

Charley, Willy’s good friend, offered him a job but Willy wouldn’t give up on being the best salesman around. When Willy needed money to pay his insurance bill he asked Charley for a loan. Charley insisted that Willy take the job he had offered, but Willy was stubborn and promised to pay him back if he would loan him the money. He admitted he would end up worth more dead than alive. Charley: Willy, nobody’s worth nothin’ dead. – Page 76 The thought of not being able to support his own family sent Willy into deep depression.

In order to make their parents happy Biff and Happy lie to them about many things, from marriage to starting their own business. After their mom tells them that Willy tries to commit suicide, the boys try even harder to make their parents happy.

When Biff finds out his father is unfaithful to his mother they have no contact with each other for many years.

The boys return home only to find their mom mad at them for abandoning Willy. Willy and Biff end up arguing about Willy’s high expectations of Biff. Biff: Pop! I’m a dime a dozen, and so are you! – Page 105 Willy wouldn’t accept this fact. Willy then gets in his car and drives away, killing himself.

Runner by Carl Deuker – Kory
(Fun Book)

If you like suspenseful, fast-paced books then you might like to read Runner.

Chance Taylor and his father live in poverty on a small boat named the Tiny Dancer. Chance’s father who is an alcoholic can barely keep the bills paid and food on the table. “And when he wasn’t drinking, my dad was an OK guy and a good, hard worker.” – Page 49 In order to forget his problems Chance took up running as a hobby. When Chance is offered $200 a week to pick up packages from a tree on his usual running route, he isn't sure what to do. He knows the money could help save his father's boat, but he's also very suspicious of his duties. He doesn't know what's in the packages or who puts them there, and he's not allowed to ask questions. He knows this might not be legal but he can’t resist the desire to help his father pay the bills.

Chance takes the job, but is always aware that he might be doing something wrong. He is constantly wondering what is in the small packages. After a while he is asked to keep certain packages on his boat, and is told that they hold emeralds and diamonds.

Throughout the book Chance has more courage to talk to a girl in his history class (Melissa.) Melissa is a smart, politically aware girl who he finds attractive. By having this mysterious job he is able to have enough money to entertain a girlfriend. Chance tells Melissa about his job, she is very suspicious but Chance ensures her nothing is wrong.

The bad guys end up not needing Chance and they want the packages that he is holding on his boat. Chance refuses to give them the packages and soon tells his father the whole story. Chance and his father search the packages on the boat only to find that Chance has been smuggling parts to make a bomb. “We both looked back to the doughy stuff on the table. It’s some kind of plastic explosive, isn’t it?” – Page 188

In the end Chance’s father kills both himself and the bad guys by blowing up the “Tiny Dancer” before anyone else could get hurt. This showed Chance that his dad really was brave.

Grianne Ohmsford, or either known as Ard Rhys, is the High Druid of Shannara. Once an Ilse Witch, dangerous and powerful witch, Grianne is still hated even if she's the Druid of Shannara. With countless enemies wanting to kill her for she was once the most dangerous thing alive, Grianne would always be cautious of her actions and had built the habit of looking after herself. Pity, the Druid only has a small number of allies. One silent night, the Ard Rhys suddenly disappears without telling anyone her begone. Her few allies and her nephew,Penderrin Ohmsford,to search and rescue the High Druid of Shannara back to her world again. I would recommend this book because although I'm not a fantasy lover, but I was still captivated by this book, regardless. With well written imagery throughout the book, you will also experience breath-taking actions and the adventure of finding the Ard Rhys. That is, if they can survivethe journey.

"...she knew he feared her. Hated her more than feared her, though. It was the same with Traunt Rowan and Iridia Eleri and one or two more." page 4
Grianne knew very well that she doesn't have any of respect or trust from other Druids.

"She badly needs you to do this," King of the Silver River assured him. "She is trapped in a very dangerous place, and she cannot get home again without your help. No one can save but you, Penderrin." page 118
King of the Silver River explains to Pen Ohmsford that only he who has the power to save his aunt.

"Inside the Fordding!...No one had ever been inside the Forbidding. there was no way to get inside, for that matter. The barrier was made strong enough to keep the demons and their kind inside." pg.140
Grianne Ohmsford finally figured out that she has been sent to the Forbidding, but not understanding how and and especially who sent her here.

The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare, Brandon

I think someone should read this play because it talks about how being honesty and fairness can help friends.
A quote from the play is from act 3 scene one "I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? Hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer as a Christian is? If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that. If a Jew wrong a Christian, what is his humility? Revenge. If a Christian wrong a Jew, what should his sufferance be by Christian example? Why, revenge. The villainy you teach me I will execute, and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction." This is a very important part of the play for Shakespeare is showing that people where discrimminated against and that all people should be treated equal because we all are human.
Another quote is in act 5 scene 1 " The man that hath no music in himself, nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,is fit for treasons, stategems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night, and his affections dark as Erebus."

As You Like It by William Shakespeare - PaFoua Yang

Play 1

As You Like It is a great comedy book by William Shakespeare. Everyone would enjoy this book because it shows a rivalry between Orlando, the youngest son of the late Sir Rowland de Boys who complains to Adam, a family servant, that his brother, Oliver, has unfairly withheld his late father's inheritance and prevented him from being educated as a gentleman. If you want to know more about this comedy and love book, feel free to read more about this book. This book is pretty cool from the beginning to end.

In the beginning of this scene, Duke Senior sets the mood for scene two talking about the feeling and the surroundings of the forest.

Now, my co-mates and brothers in exile,
Hath not old custom made this life more sweet
Than that of painted pomp? Are not these woods
More free from peril than the envious court?
Here feel we not the penalty of Adam,
The seasons’ difference, as the icy fang
And churlish chiding of the winter’s wind,
Which when it bites and blows upon my body
Even till I shrink with cold, I smile, and say
’This is no flattery.

In Act 4, Scene 1, Rosalind rejects Orlando’s claim that he would die if Rosalind should fail to love him back. Rosalind’s insistence that “[m]en have died from time to time, and worms have eaten them, but not for love” Men are much more likely to die by being hit with a club or drowning than in a fatal case of heartbreak. Rosalind does not mean to deny the existence of love. On the hand, she delights in loving Orlando.

The first, the Retort Courteous; the second, the Quip Modest; the third, the Reply Churlish; the fourth, the Reproof Valiant; the fifth, the Counter check Quarrelsome; the sixth, the Lie with Circumstance; the seventh, the Lie Direct. All these you may avoid but the Lie Direct; and you may avoid that, too, with an ‘if’. I knew when seven justices could not take up a quarrel, but when the parties were met themselves, one of them thought but of an ‘if’, as ‘If you said so, then I said so’, and they shook hands and swore brothers. Your ‘if’ is the only peacemaker; much virtue in ‘if’.

The Shape of Things by Neil Labute - Susan

This book has a twisted plot based upon art, love and change.

"Evelyn: yes...very good. 'a truth in art is that whose contradictory is also true.' right, but that's an aesthetic. i'm talking about practicalities. censorship. (she points) this sculpture. it's fake, it's not real. therefore, false art..." page 8

A boy and girl, Adam and Evelyn, meet at a local college's art museum, where Adam works and Evelyn attends. Throughout the play, they fall in love and Adam makes changes to his life, ones that Evelyn suggests. Evelyn meets Adam's friend Phillip and his fiance, Jenny Unfortunately, Phillip and Evelyn do not see eye to eye about art.

One day, Adam and Jenny are talking about Jenny's upcoming wedding. Accidentally, they kiss. Phillip and Evelyn find out, so they kiss as well. This makes the couples upset, and Evelyn makes Adam choose between her and his friends. "Adam: i'll do anything you want. okay? i know what i did was wrong, i do, i messed up but i've never done that before. lied to a person i was going out with...[shoot], i haven't even gone out with someone for the two years before we met! so, tell me what to do and i'll do it...i just, i just don't wanna lose you." page 110

At Evelyn's presentation of her thesis, she speaks to Adam afterward and says, "...adam, this is my work. (beat.) i'll give back whatever you want, soon as i get my grade."

The ending of this book is sudden and unexpected, but all together creates an interestingly twisted story.

Othello by William Shakespeare- Dilenity ( play)

In the beginning of this play, Iago and Roderigo talks about Othello. Iago furious with the fact that othello had promote a younger man,Cassio, to be his new lieutenant. Looking for revenge, Iago asked Roderigo to tell Desdemona's father that she has been stolen by Othello using witchcraft. Her father strongly opposed to this marriage because Othello is a Moor. Brabantio and Othello bring their argument to the Duke, who ordered the general to sail to Cyprus to stop the invasion of the Turks. The duke then let Desdemona to follow along Othello because he was convinced that the both of them are truly in love. When they finally reached Cyprus, the invasion was gone.
Iago got Cassio drunk and then got Roderigo to have a street fight with him. Iago then trick Othello into believing that his wife is unfaithful. Iago tells Othello that his wife is Cassio's lover. Othello, believing the lie, that his wife and his lieutenant really are having an affair, so he promotes Iago and asked if he could help him kill Cassio and his wife.
Iago set up a plan, putting a handkerchief of Desdemona in Cassio's room. Cassio then gives it to Bianca and at that time Othello really believes that the suspicion really is true. He verbally abused Desdemona in front of other people, shocking others around him because he was once a noble and kind man.
Manipulated by Iago, Roderigo killed Cassio. But the plan didn't go according to plan and Cassio wounds Roderigo, which led to Cassio getting stabbed by Iago. Hearing that Cassio cried out in pain, Othello then goes home to kill his wife. He first kisses her and wakes her up and then suddenly accuses her again. She desperately tried to convince him that she is innocent but in the end he smothers her to death.
Emilia,Iago's wife, defends Desdemona and told other taht the person behind the madness is Iago. Othello finally understand the situation and try to kill Iago, but he failed. Instead Iago killed his wife and flees. The tragic play ends with Othello committing suicide and Iago captured and taken away.

Quotes: "She is abused, stol'n from me, and corrupted. By spells and medicines bought of mountebanks; For nature so preposterously to err, Being not deficient, blind, or lame of sense, Sans witchcraft could not."
pg. 822 Branbantio explains that his daughter is stolen from him.

"The smallest fear or doubt of her revolt; for she had eyes, and chose me. No,Iago; I'll see before I doubt, prove; And,on the proof, there is no more but this;-- Away at once with love or jealousy!"
Othello tells Iago that he would not believe this until he sees the prove. pg. 836

I recommend this play because it teaches people that jealousy could take a person to their death. Any William Shakespeare is a must read, that is if you are patient enough to read line by lines and slowly, too. :)

A hero ain’t nothin’ but a sandwich by: Alice Childress
This book is very realistic. It deals with drug addictions, relationship problems, family problems, and personal and emotional problems. I think people would like this book because some people may relate and could get help. Other people may just like realistic books. This story revolves around drug addiction, personal and family problems, poverty and other major issues. In order to understand everything you need to not be bias. You have to look at more than one point of view. In Harlem which is where benji the main character lives refers to his home as “ghetto”, “a slum”, any bad word that you can use to describe his home he said it. He can get drugs wherever and whenever he wants them his home, school, and everything in between is not stable for him. He needs a stable place but he can’t find one. The characters are: Benji, his friends and family members, his teachers and principal, drug pushers, a fortuneteller, stepfather," Butler Craig. Benji is addicted to heroin. He says that he isn’t addicted and he can stop when he wants to. But every drug addict says that. He is addicted and he can’t stop. His best friend jimmy-lee is the one who got him hooked on drugs and their not friends anymore. Jimmy stopped using drugs. Benji sees his mom and grandmother, and Mrs. Bell as over critical. They are judgmental and want everything in his life perfect and not messed up anymore.
No exit by: Jean-Paul Sartre
Garcin, Inez, and Estelle are taken to the same room by a mysterious valet. Garcin says that he was executed for being a pacifist; Estelle thinks that a mistake has been made and they aren’t supposed to be there. Inez thinks that everyone needs to just confess that they know why they are there which is for their crimes. She realizes that they are not there by mistake but are there to treat each other miserable. They all decide to tell each other what they have done so they know what to expect from each other. Garcin cheated and mistreated his wife, Inez seduced her cousin's wife while she was living with them, and Estelle cheated on her husband and drowned her illegitimate baby. Forgetting that they are all dead, Estelle unsuccessfully tries to kill Inez, stabbing her repeatedly. People would like this book because it’s mysterious and keeps you wanting to read more. If you like hearing about people bickering and arguing all the time because you think its funny you would like this book.
Giving up you v by: Serena Rolan
This book is about this overweight girl has always been the best friend or the sister. she has never had a boyfriend or someone to call her own. On her 16th birthday Spencer had to go to the obgyn. Her mom thinks that it’s a family ritual for every 16 year old to get put on the pill. One day at school a new boy shows up named Benjamin Hopkins. Spencer falls deeply in love with him. Spencer really never really thought about a guy liking her, until the day he asked her out on a date. She should have known something was up when he said don’t tell anyone, but she didn’t. Soon after the first day she realized he was only after one thing. Someone would want to read this book because a lot of teenagers are going through pressure, and you always question whether it’s right or not. “Sometimes a new guy and what you want, and sometimes it are the jock, in my case it was both. But if you’re really really lucky the guy you want ends up being your best friend.”-Spencer pg. 242. “I went to bed with swollen lips and a huge grin on my face”-Spencer pg. 237.

A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams - Susan

This is a wonderful play. If you like to read books about relationships and life, this is a great one.

"Men (feebly): Take it easy, Stanley. Easy, fellow. -Let's all-
Stella: You lay your hands on me and I'll-"

Stella used to live the high life of a wealthy Southerner. But when it started getting harder to keep the property theirs, she left with her husband Stanley, away from her sister Blanche. This leaves Blanche to take care of their ancestral plantation.

Blanche comes to visit her sister, very disstressed by the loss of family and the Belle Reve. She finds love with Stanley's closest friend, Mitch. "Mitch: You need somebody. And I need somebody, too. Could it be-you and me, Blanche?" page 78. Unfortunately, due to Stanley and Blanche's views of each other, tears the two apart. Throughout the book, violence is seen in Stanley and Blanche tries to convince Stella to leave him. "Blanche: Pull yourself together and face the facts. Stella: What are they, in your opinion? Blanche: In my opinion? You're married to a madman!" page 68

This play continues with love and disappointment. I feel that many people would come to find that this play is very emotional, and a very good story.

(Mrs. Bottoms: Both books listed on here are my plays. Also this play was within a collection of several plays, which is why the page numbers are fairly close together.)

There are many reasons to read this book, but I will only give you two of them then you have to read it and find out how awesome it really is. The first reason you would want to read this book is because it is super funny. On page 71 is states:

"Big J: k, kids, ready 2 go?

gothling: just waiting 4 u, johnson. ur 14 mins late

Ms. T: where oh where could he have been?

Big J: i have a life too, peanut"

The second reason you would want to read this book is because it has girls deceiving boyfriends to see if boys are really liars or not. On page 9 it quotes:
"Ms. T: ... you and i PRETEND to go away. mitch and beau are heartbroken, right?

bliss4u: right...

Ms. T: we make them promise to be good till we come back, ok?

bliss4u: sure. k. then what?

Blind Date Bride by Jillian Hart - Chasidi

If you are the person who loves to read sappy romance novels than this book is for you. Brianna is a girl who is very lovely and charming but can never bet a blind date to show up.

" It happened again. Another blind date gone wrong. No, worse than wrong. It hadn't even started. Brianna McKaslin let the edge of her sleeve slip into place, hiding the watch that said her supposed-to-be perfect match was thirty-five minutes late. And counting. Thirty-five minutes? Too late to be caught in traffic, not in this part of town. Bozeman, Montana wasn't that big of a place, so anything over half an hour meant she'd been officially dumped."

But then.... she met Mr. Perfect.

" It was the handsome guy. His voice rumbled as dark as midnight and deep as an evening storm. With one look into his captivating blue eyes, the power of speech abandoned her. Fabulous. Since she wasn't Alice, she managed a slight shake of her head."

So basically this is the perfect romantic story but it never turns out the way you think it is going to. So I guess you will have to read it to find out what really happens with Mr. Perfect.

Helena, the orphan daughter of a famous physician, is the ward of the Countess of Rousillon, and hopelessly in love with her son, Count Bertram, who has been sent to the court of the King of France. Despite her beauty and worth, Helena has no hope of attracting Bertram, since she is of low birth and he is a nobleman. However, when word comes that the King is ill, she goes to Paris and, using her father's arts, cures the illness. In return, she is given the hand of any man in the realm; she chooses Bertram. Her new husband is appalled at the match, however, and shortly after their marriage flees France, accompanied only by a scoundrel named Parolles, to fight in the army of the Duke of Florence.

Helena is sent home to the Countess, and receives a letter from Bertram informing her that he will never be her true spouse unless she can get his family ring from his finger, and become pregnant with his child--neither of which, he declares, will ever come to pass. The Countess, who loves Helena and approves of the match, tries to comfort her, but the distraught young woman departs Rousillon, planning to make a religious pilgrimage.

Meanwhile, in Florence, Bertram has become a general in the Duke's army. Helena comes to the city, and discovers that her husband is trying to seduce the virginal daughter of a kindly Widow. With the connivance of the daughter, named Diana, she contrives to trick Bertram: he gives Diana his ring as a token of his love, and when he comes to her room at night, Helena is in the bed, and they make love without him realizing that it is her. At the same time, two lords in the army expose Parolles as a coward and a villain, and he falls out of Bertram's favor. Meanwhile, false messengers have come to the camp bearing word that Helena is dead, and with the war drawing to a close, Bertram decides to return to France. Unknown to him, Helena follows, accompanied by Diana and the Widow.

In Rousillon, everyone is mourning Helena as dead. The King is visiting, and consents to Bertram marrying the daughter of an old, faithful lord, named Lafew. However, he notices a ring on Bertram's finger that formerly belonged to Helena--it was a gift from the King after she saved his life. (Helena gave the ring to Diana in Florence, and she in turn gave it to her would-be lover.) Bertram is at a loss to explain where it came from, but just then Diana and her mother appear to explain matters--followed by Helena, who informs her husband that both his conditions have been fulfilled. Chastened, Bertram consents to be a good husband to her, and there is general rejoicing.

Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt.
This book is filled with drama, secrets, fun romance, and betrayal.

A month before Cortney and Jordan go off to collage, Jordan ends up breaking up with Cortney for what seems to be for no reason. Cortney finds out that it's because of this "online" girl Jordan met. Still the two of them have to go on a road trip to get to collage even though they are now not together. "Not only is Jordan acting like this trip isn't going to impact our future if we don't get a move on, but also acting like us being broke up is nothing"(page 7)

While reading this interesting novel you go back and forth to the past before Jorden and Courtney break up to the road trip it's self, so you get a real good look on what really happend and why they broke up. '"Yes, honey?" (Jordan speaking on the phone) "Dude, what the f***?"(BJ, Jordans best friend) I can't belive I just called BJ honey, but I had to make it seem like I was talking to my new girlfriend, who Courtney thinks I found online. What she really doesn't know is that shes fake.'

I would recomend this book to any one if they like the drama type books. Even though I'm pretty sure that's going to be mostly all girls.

This book is about a girl who goes to a kind of private school, she used to be popular and have the most popular boyfriend a friends till she started coming to school drunk and just not doing good in school anymore. Her life started to go down hill, pretty much. She was not really popular after she kept getting in trouble, her (Parker) and her boyfriend (Chris) are no longer together. He is now with Parker's old friend Becky, who took Parkers spot on the cheerleading squad as captain.
Now it has come down to if Parker does not pull herself together she might not graduate from high school. And all of this is because she saw something that happend to one of her friends and she did not bother to tell anyone about it, then she started to feel bad when her friend was announced missing and most likely dead.

This book was very interesting, I really liked it.

~interesting fact about the book~
The writer Courtney Summers lives and writes in Canada.

U ncertain of his future goals, seventeen-year-old Richie Perry, a black high school graduate from Harlem, travels to Vietnam to fight in the United States Army. When Richie leaves basic training for Vietnam, he harbors a host of illusions about the war and the army. He confidently believes that the medical profile he has received for a knee injury will be properly processed and prevent him from engaging in combat. He also believes in the flurry of rumors about imminent peace and in the prevalent romantic myths about warfare.

When Richie first arrives in Vietnam, he befriends Harold “Peewee” Gates and Jenkins, two new recruits assigned to the same squad. A sergeant assures them that they should encounter only easy, light work, as there is not much fighting near Chu Lai, where their company is stationed. These rumors prove to be wishful thinking, however, when the three new soldiers arrive at their camp; Jenkins is killed by a land mine during the squad’s first patrol. Richie is deeply shaken and longs to communicate his terror and horror to his family, but he finds himself unable to write the truth to his mother and his brother, Kenny.

As Richie witnesses ever-increasing levels of destruction and brutality, he begins to doubt whether there is any straightforward morality in war. He sees that the line between good and bad is often ambiguous. He also becomes disillusioned with the selfishness of his commanding officers, particularly the company commander, Captain Stewart, who is more concerned with earning a promotion than he is with the safety of the soldiers under his command. When Richie’s platoon leader, Lieutenant Carroll, is killed during a combat mission, Richie begins a serious search for answers to why he and his fellow soldiers are even fighting in Vietnam in the first place. Though his friends insist that such thoughts are futile and dangerous, Richie feels compelled to find meaning within the chaos. He also longs for some way to communicate his confused thoughts and emotions to his family, but he remains unable to do so. Richie is not sure how to sort out the emotions he feels or how to communicate them effectively to civilians who have never seen combat.

As Richie searches for meaning in the war, he also searches for his own sense of self. He struggles to unravel his motivations for enlisting in the army, wondering whether his reason was a selfless one, based on the desire to earn money to provide for Kenny, or a selfish one—simply to escape from the hard life he faced in Harlem. Richie also forces himself to confront the uncomfortable question of what he will do when he returns to civilian life. Though he is highly intelligent and highly motivated and has ambitions to become a writer, his family is too poor to send him to college. Richie’s father abandoned the family years ago, and his mother has since become an alcoholic. Richie is afraid that without an education he has no career potential, and he is unsure what he has to look forward to if he survives.

Richie is wounded in a battle and transferred to a hospital. During the peaceful weeks spent recuperating, he begins to remember the joys of safety and gains a new sense of the horrors of war. When he is declared healthy and ordered to rejoin his unit, he wonders how he can possibly go back into combat and considers deserting the army. In the end, though, he rejoins his unit as ordered.

Back with his unit, Richie learns that the old squad leader, Sergeant Simpson, has been sent home. His replacement is the racist Sergeant Dongan, who always places black soldiers in the most dangerous positions. Early in their tour of duty, there are racial and ethnic tensions among the squad members, which frequently result in physical confrontations. As the squad’s bond grows stronger, however, petty prejudices begin to fade, and the squad bands together against Dongan’s racism. Soon, Dongan is killed, and the squad is placed under the command of one of its own soldiers, Corporal Brunner.

Tiffany
Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer

Its a really good book. If you havent finished or began to read the series of the twilight books, you should. Its definately worth the while.
Iin the book, it tells more about the history of the lifes of Jasper and the tribe of the wolves. They find out that someone is stalking Bella and Alice uses her vision power to see when they are coming. they form a battle and hide Bella so shes safe, and they finally kill the one vampire from the other books, with the red hair. Edward and Bella make deals for there future, such as getting married! :P "Its a good thing youre bulletproof.Im going to need that ring. Its time to tell charlie" Another hilarous quote from the book I laughed so hard at, was when edward and jacob was hiding Bella in a cave so she would be safe from the vampires that were coming that the Cullens and wolves were going to fight, they were argueing because it was so cold and Bella was shivering, and Edward said to Jacob (Jacob was forced outside because of edwards....jealousy I guess youd say) "I dont see you making yourself useful. Why dont you go fetch a space heater or somehting?"

Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt – Holly
This is my fun book. If you like a book where there is a lot of mystery and excitement then you need to read this book. This book is about an ex boyfriend (Jordan) and girl friend (Courtney) going on a road trip to college. The trip was planned before they broke up and now they can’t get out of it. They were perfectly happy and out of nowhere, Jordan broke up with Courtney. Everyone thinks he left her for another girl, but secretly, Jordan was afraid to tell Courtney that her dad was cheating on her mom with his mom. “Why do you care? You’re the one who dumped me…for another girl.” “There’s more to it than that…but I do care. A LOT.” “OK!! I can’t handle this anymore. I broke up with you because I was afraid to tell you that your dad was cheating with my mom. He made me promise that he would tell you in his own time. But I miss you Court….”

Vickey-Othello by: William Shakespeare
Othello

Quote " Why with my lord, madam?" page 115 they are wondering who is the lord.
Quote "The time the place the torture oh inforce it" page 445 its the tragic end and is simply easy to say the person saying they should just give him his fate as it is written.

I would say it would take alot to read this book and you would have to be very interested in it and able to read old english as well as any other. but it is an interesting book.
